Who We Are
Maranatha Acres is a third-generation family farm in Delta, Ohio, growing corn, soybeans, and wheat since 1963. What started with Charles and Sharon Riegsecker has been carried forward by their sons and grandson — Randy, Brian, and Sam — through decades of change, from a dairy and grain operation to the grain-focused farm we are today.
Even our name has a story behind it. Maranatha is an ancient Aramaic word with roots in Scripture, and it became part of our farm’s identity more than 50 years ago. Our name has nothing to do with marketing and everything to do with faith, study, and family. It’s a name that’s meant something different at every stage of this farm’s history, and it still shapes how we think about the work we do today.
The decades, the decisions, and the faith behind them are really the full story of our farm.
What We Do
Maranatha Acres is focused on growing corn, soybeans, and wheat across Northwest Ohio. We take a progressive, practical approach to farming, combining generations of experience, field-level data, and careful management to grow our crops efficiently and make the most of every acre.
Grain Production
We manage our crops from planting through harvest, making decisions around variety selection, fertility, crop protection, and harvest timing. Our goal is to manage each field efficiently while putting ourselves in the best position to produce a quality crop.
On-Farm Research
We put seed varieties, products, and management practices to the test in our own fields. Our test plots and field trials allow us to see what performs under the same Northwest Ohio conditions we farm every day and help guide decisions for the seasons ahead.
Technology & Innovation
Agriculture is constantly changing, and we stay open to new advances that can provide a practical benefit on our farm. We evaluate new seed traits and technologies and look for better ways to apply crop protection products.
Looking to the Future
Growth, for us, isn’t just about adding acres; it’s about building a stronger operation and creating something that can continue for the next generation. As opportunities present themselves for our farm, we’re open to that growth, whether that’s here in Fulton County or elsewhere across Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
That growth depends heavily on relationships. We know farmland often represents generations of family history, while sometimes it is simply just an investment, and we approach those conversations with the same long-term perspective we bring to our own family farm.
We’re excited about what’s ahead, and always glad to connect with landowners and/or farmers exploring what a partnership with Maranatha Acres could look like.
